Parking Near Madison Square Garden
If you are driving to an event at Madison Square Garden, proximity is only one part of the decision. These garages sit within roughly a fifth of a mile of the arena, but event-day rates, vehicle clearance and entry traffic still need to be checked before you commit.

Closest is useful, but it is not the whole parking decision
Madison Square Garden sits directly above Penn Station, so the blocks around the arena carry event traffic, commuters, taxis, delivery vehicles and pedestrians at the same time. A garage that is fifty yards closer on a map can still be slower to reach if your approach forces you across Seventh or Eighth Avenue at the busiest moment.
The options below are intentionally tight: every listed facility is within 0.22 miles in a straight line from the arena coordinates. That is a geographic filter, not a promise of a specific walking route or event-day availability.
Check the garage before you leave home
Parking rates around Penn Station are highly variable and can change for concerts, Knicks or Rangers games, holidays and peak hours. Vehicle-height limits matter too. Madison Square Garden's own directions guidance notes that some indoor facilities cannot accommodate raised-roof vehicles. If clearance, accessible parking or a particular entry time is important, confirm it directly with the garage or your booking provider.
Pre-booking can reduce uncertainty, but it does not eliminate Midtown traffic. Keep the garage address saved separately from the arena address so your navigation app does not route you to Madison Square Garden first and then send you around the block.
Choose the side of the arena that matches your approach
If you are arriving from the west, a garage around West 31st to 34th Streets near Eighth Avenue can avoid an extra cross-town move. Approaching from the east may make a Sixth- or Seventh-Avenue-side facility more practical even when its straight-line distance is slightly greater. After the event, the same logic applies in reverse: think about the direction you need to leave Manhattan, not only the shortest walk to your seat.
Transit remains the simpler fallback
The venue is directly above Penn Station and is served by multiple subway and rail lines. If parking cost, vehicle size or post-event congestion is the main concern, compare the full door-to-door trip with rail before deciding to drive. The purpose of this page is to make the driving option clearer, not to pretend it is always the easiest one.
