The Skipper Lounge

Education centers offer focused ways to pick up practical skills. The Skipper Lounge is one option on the island’s eastern edge, helping visitors and residents alike sharpen their abilities. Found inside the teaching studio at 189 Front St New York, NY 10038, the space centers on small-group lessons rather than large lectures.

Taught clinics rotate among basics like knot work and chart reading, paired with hands-on deck drills in quick sessions. Emergency drills and safety seminars appear when the calendar flips, while seasonal offerings slip in sailing simulations when the weather turns. Evenings sometimes host evenings for CPR and first-aid recerts, all squeezed into tight two-hour blocks.
