Tens
About
Tens follows its own rhythm on Madison Avenue. A producer of recorded music, it’s a small studio with a focus on hip-hop, R&B, and pop. Sessions range from full albums to shorter EPs, and the space records vocals and instruments in equal measure. Mixing and mastering services are on hand to polish tracks, while beat-making and sound-design options sit alongside production consulting for artists.
Visitors will find the studio two blocks south of the 6-train at 96th Street. The building sits on the same block as the elevated subway pillars, framed by brownstones and mid-century walk-ups. 1409 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10029 marks the spot between 95th and 96th Streets.
Sound isolation and analog warmth anchor the technical setup here. Clients can pencil in tracking hours or schedule rhythm-section days without the usual studio clock pressure. The control room accommodates analog outboard alongside contemporary plugins, letting engineers toggle between vintage and modern workflows.
