Auditioning for a musical-theater or acting program can require much more than singing a favorite song: applicants must select suitable monologues and repertoire, work on interpretation and technique, prepare prescreen recordings and track each school's separate requirements.

MTCA offers one-to-one coaching across acting, singing and dance, along with advice on essays, program choices and the organization of an application season. The team works with high-school applicants as well as gap-year students, transfers and some graduate-school candidates. Coaching can be arranged virtually or through selected in-person locations, so students outside New York can also participate.
