Montauk Adventures
About
Between the clamor of Montauk Highway and the flat gray of Block Island Sound, Montauk Adventures trades postcards for reels. Out of a narrow pier near 2 Center Street they put boat, rod, and page together—just enough light to spot a fluke rolling under the gunwales at dawn and no more excuses to miss the bite. Unless the tuna show by 9 a.m., surf fishing, drift-shelling, and summer porgy runs are usually sorted before lunch, with prices sorted afterward instead of beforehand.
Walk ten paces west from the lighthouse marker at 2 Center Street, Montauk, NY 11954. While the parking lot sorts itself out, audible is only the gate creak and a voice asking for the
first reel seat number—reachable directly at (203) 524-3654. Soft seafloor charts and night squid trips leave the dock by 5 p.m., but the best hatches start in the gray hour, so they’re ready before the tide does.
