The wild retail stretch along Broadway between Houston and Prince long ago became the unofficial flagship corridor for designer-name clothing stores. One recent addition, Lacoste, holds a polished post in the middle of an already crowded parade of labels.

A six-minute walk from the Spring Street station lies 541 Broadway, where the store claims its slice of SoHo sidewalk. Inside, shoppers sort through men’s clothing and women’s clothing, though the stock changes faster than the Four Seasons weather in Tribeca.
