Janis Hall Studio
About
Architecture transforms blank spaces into lived experience. Janis Hall Studio channels that transformation through spatial design, structural balance, and subtle material contrasts. Work here begins with program review and morphs through iterative studies into refined proposals. The studio’s base sits close to the Hudson River piers, at 526 W 26th St, New York, NY 10001, a corridor already loud with raw conditions and aspirational conversions. In the city’s east–west cadence, the block allows material palettes to breathe where morning sun and river air meet brick and glass planes. Rough massing, daylight access studies, zoning envelope corrections, facade studies, and fit-out modeling all share the drawing board, the code check, and long tables of section and detail lines. Questions shift from “how high?” to “how airtight?” and “how daylight responsive?” Pricing and talent sourcing arrive only after the labyrinth of geometry has settled into usable, tactile form.
