About
South of Canal’s pulse sits ArtHouse by Sedef Gali, where original silk-screen prints meet hand-bound journals within blocks of SoHo lofts and Greene Street galleries. The studio occupies the second floor of 570 Broome St, inside a converted industrial space notable for its unadorned brick corridors—classic SoHo, unfiltered. Between deliveries from nearby printmakers and painters heading back to their lofts, the address quietly belongs to a working artist’s perch rather than a tourist showcase.
Sedef Gali’s workspace keeps edition sizes intimate but experiment bold. Alongside small-format publications, the roster includes bespoke letterpress posters on recycled cotton, two-color linocut notecards, and artist-run workshops on overprint techniques. Clients often arrive with architectural floor plans to test ink coverage on specialty papers before committing to runs of 25–100. The studio also hosts short-run zine exchanges for downtown writers, making the mezzanine a rotating hub for micro-press culture.
To reach the studio on a weekday afternoon, dial (646) 593-4919 and follow the automated instructions to the freight elevator; street parking tightens after 5:30 PM, so plan accordingly. For a map and step-by-step directions to the freight entrance, use the interactive map before you head out.
