Art Center at 92NY
About
The Art Center at 92NY is an educational workshop environment within one of New York's long-running cultural organizations. It welcomes people who want to make art, not only those seeking to view finished work. Its courses cover fields including painting, drawing, ceramics, jewelry, printmaking, photography and design, with instruction adapted to different ages and levels of experience.
Hands-on access to a studio is central to the program. In a screen-printing workshop, for instance, participants can learn how ink passes through a prepared mesh screen and practice printing their own design. Jewelry students may also have access to supervised studio time outside a regular class, subject to enrollment rules and room schedules. These arrangements make it worth examining the course description rather than assuming all materials or additional practice time are included. The center is part of 92NY at 1395 Lexington Avenue, near East 92nd Street. The 92NY Art Center program page lists current classes, instructors, exhibitions and registration options.
