ABC Hoops
About
Basketball clubs redefine how local sports spaces operate; the discipline, scheduling, and player development set them apart. Community courts and indoor leagues fill the gap between pickup games and serious competition. Behind the 2200 Westchester Avenue storefront sits ABC Hoops. It sits two blocks from the 6 train—a short walk for anyone coming up from Hunts Point or Longwood. Youth leagues share weekend mornings; adult rec leagues rotate Tuesday and Thursday nights. Skills camps run winter and summer, while shooting clinics drop in on select Sundays. Contact them Monday through Friday mornings or after late evening sessions. Next door’s bodega-switch line is always shorter before noon; give them a ring if practice plans change or if you need court reservations. Close by, fenced courts stay open until 10 p.m. in season, weather permitting. Find routes or add your endpoint with directions on the map. Mutton crews still park near the exit, leaving space on Jerome; from the elevated train you can spot the court lights glowing after dusk.
